Index option
Index options are financial derivatives allowing traders to speculate on or hedge against the price movement of a stock market index (e.g., S&P 500, Nifty 50) without owning the underlying securities. They are typically European-style (exercised only at expiration) and cash-settled, offering high leverage, diversification, and protection against portfolio risk.
Stock option
A stock option is a contract granting the right, but not the obligation, to buy (call option) or sell (put option) shares at a set price (strike price) within a specific timeframe. Often used as employee compensation to encourage retention, these options usually require a vesting period before they can be exercised.
Stock options are financial derivatives granting the right, but not obligation, to buy (call) or sell (put) shares at a set price within a specific period. Employee stock options (ESOs) typically require vesting to align employee interests with company performance.
Equity Cash
Cash equity refers to the purchase or sale of company stocks where the full value is paid upfront in cash rather than using margin or borrowed funds. It represents direct ownership, with trades settled in real-time, often in the, "spot market". Currency Derivatives
The foreign exchange market (forex, FX, or currency market) is a global decentralized or over-the-counter (OTC) market for the trading of currencies. This market determines foreign exchange rates for every currency. By trading volume, it is by far the largest market in the world, followed by the credit market.
Future Derivatives
Future derivatives are standardized financial agreements to buy or sell an underlying asset—such as commodities, stocks, or indices—at a predetermined price on a specified future date. Traded on exchanges, they obligate both parties to fulfill the contract, often used for hedging risks or speculation to profit from price movements.
